The Victorian Government has awarded Tattersalls a licence to run a mid-week lotto game.
Tattersalls won the licence over Intralot, the Greek lotteries company that recently took over the running of Keno and instant scratchies.
There will be Monday and Wednesday night draws in several states.
The new games are in addition to the nation-wide lotteries already run by Tattersalls on Tuesday (Super 7's Oz Lotto), Thursday (Powerball) and Saturday nights (Saturday Lotto).

3 September 2008TATTS LOTTERIES TO LAUNCH NEW MID-WEEK LOTTOTatts Lotteries today announced that it has received approval from the Victorian Government to launch a new mid-week lotto game.
Mr Bill Thorburn, Tatts Lotteries Chief Executive, was delighted with the Victorian Government’s decision to approve the company’s game proposal for Monday & Wednesday Lotto.
“This is the first major game approval in the new competitive Victorian lotteries market and will deliver benefits to our players and lottery agents.
“This is a long awaited, highly anticipated decision for Tatts Lotteries and our loyal customers and lottery agents who have been without a Wednesday lotto game since late June 2008.
“As this is a multi-state game, we are currently in discussions with the lotto Bloc partners from the other states regarding the precise timing of our launch. We hope to have the game available for sale from Tattersall’s lottery outlets in Victoria, Tasmania, Northern Territory and ACT as soon as possible after the necessary
licensing arrangements have been finalised,” Mr Thorburn said.
Game InformationThe new Monday & Wednesday Lotto will feature two draws per week and will continue the Tattersall’s tradition of providing big million dollar prizes. The game is already available in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia. As a multi-state game, Monday & Wednesday Lotto will have greater presence than the
previous state based Wednesday only lottery game.
Monday & Wednesday Lotto will offer a minimum guaranteed $1 million division one prize pool, which jackpots if not won. Players will choose 6 numbers from 45 in a standard game.
Tatts Lotteries is a business unit of the Tatts Group. It comprises two lottery businesses in Australia: Tattersall’s Lotteries in Victoria, Tasmania, NT and ACT; and Golden Casket in Queensland.
